This Privacy Policy describes how Cortex Lumora (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Roaster Bot mobile app (the “App”).
1. Information we collect
Account information. Roaster Bot requires an account. You sign in with an email one-time code, Apple, or Google. We collect your email address, and your name if your sign-in provider supplies it, along with an account identifier. Authentication is handled by Clerk.
Content you submit. When you upload a photo or screenshot, or enter a description, we send it to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate roasts. Uploaded images are stored in our cloud storage (Amazon Web Services) and associated with your account so they appear in your History.
Roasts and history. The roasts generated for you, and the inputs that produced them, are stored on our servers and linked to your account so you can see them in History across devices.
Usage analytics. We use PostHog to collect usage data — in-app interactions and screens viewed — along with an app-instance/device identifier. This is used to understand and improve the App. Analytics is enabled in the production app only.
Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google and managed via RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status, but never your payment card details.
2. What we don't collect
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, or your photo library. We only access the specific photo you choose to roast. We do not sell your personal information.
3. How we use information
We use your information to provide the App: generating roasts, showing your History, managing your account and subscription, and improving the product through analytics. Submitted content is used to generate roasts and is not used to train AI models or sold to advertisers.
4. Third-party services
We rely on the following processors, each handling only the data needed for its function:
- Clerk — account sign-in and authentication.
- OpenAI — generating roasts from your photos and text.
- Amazon Web Services — storing uploaded images.
- Apple, Google & RevenueCat — processing and managing subscriptions.
- PostHog — privacy-conscious product analytics.
5. Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information and sign-in account; see “Your rights” below. We may retain anonymized, non-identifying usage records for aggregate analytics.
6. Children
Roaster Bot is rated 13+ and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights
You can delete your account and personal data at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the App, or by following our account deletion instructions. To make any other request about your data, email privacy@cortexlumora.com.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App before they take effect.
